At TrackMaven, we believe our team should be full of Mavens: people who are absurdly talented and passionate, but also a little bit goofy. We launched TM Talks — a weekly speaker series hosted at TrackMaven HQ — so that our team can learn from innovators and industry leaders who are Mavens in their own right.
For our April TM Talks, we hosted two truly pawesome speakers from two fellow Washington, D.C.-based tech companies. Here are a few nibbles and bits from their presentations!
Trevor Lynn, CMO at Social Tables, spoke to us about startups, marketing, and what it means to be a customer-centric company. (All of our very favorite things!) We learned about Social Tables’ journey from a bootstrapped startup to a 65-person company. As we continue to grow, it’s incredibly valuable to learn from our peers in the D.C.-tech scene that have successfully transitioned from start-up to scale-up mode.
At TrackMaven, we LOVE our customers, and we’re focused on doing everything we can to help them use insights from the TrackMaven platform to improve their content marketing. Trevor made us think critically about how and why we put our customers first, and the most effective way to be truly great customer advocates!
Fitz Holladay, Founder of wēgo concerts and Director of Sofar Sounds spoke to us about the intersection of music, community, and technology! Sofar Sounds curates secret pop-up music concerts in intimate venues all over the world. More than a few Mavens quickly joined the listserv to stay up-to-date on the next D.C.-based events. We may have tried to persuade Fitz to use TrackMaven HQ’s as a private venue….
While serving as Director of Sofar Sounds Fitz also launched a music app, wēgo concerts (available in the app store!) that helps users discover upcoming concerts, connect with friends about music, and make new friends (or even dates!) through a shared concert calendar. Our group of music-loving Mavens was immediately intrigued; our tech-y team was simultaneously downloading the app, asking Fitz about his product roadmap, and inquiring about how he’ll implement his marketing plan.
