Meet Our Maven Of The Month, Tripp Brockway!

Get to know the people behind our product!

At TrackMaven, we believe our team should be full of Mavens: people who are absurdly talented and passionate but also a little bit goofy.

From the product to our sales process, our team of Mavens is dedicated to making marketers’ lives easier and happier — and making TrackMaven a ruffin’ awesome place to work all the while. With our Maven of the Month series, you’ll get to learn a little more about the people who make our company culture so unique.

For our first Maven of the Month, we’re spotlighting Tripp Brockway. As a tenured member of the TrackMaven sales team, Tripp has watched the company more than quintuple in size, and has consulted with marketers at best-in-class brands along the way.

Here’s your look into Tripp’s TrackMaven journey!

Tripp Brockway, a Senior Competitive Intelligence Maven and sales team lead, worked as a Senate staffer prior to joining TrackMaven. You can connect with Tripp on Twitter @TrippBrockway.

What brought you to TrackMaven?

The product brought me to TrackMaven. I worked on a U.S. Senate campaign prior to working here, and we would have loved to use TrackMaven. Since working here, I’ve learned that the digital goals for campaigns and advocacy groups (build trust, encourage action) are very similar to content marketing for brands. It’s a fascinating convergence.

What keeps you at TrackMaven?

The people keep me here. The team is incredibly intelligent, passionate, inspiring, and fun. More on that later.

TrackMaven helps marketers create better content. Name a few brands you admire for their effective, innovative content.

I had to unfollow REI and Patagonia on all social media channels, because every time I saw a post from them, it took all I had to fight the urge to drop everything I was doing and head out into the wilderness.

I’m also a big fan of what the folks at Dun & Bradstreet are doing. They’re a legacy brand (some would say “old school”), but they’re building a strong content marketing program and becoming thought leaders in a crowded space.

TrackMaven is growing quickly! What advice would you give to new Mavens to help them put their best paw forward?

Learn from your colleagues. Whether professionally or otherwise, your fellow Mavens have a lot to offer and are all willing to help!

Where have you made the biggest contribution to your team?

As a member of the sales team, it’s important to me that we bring integrity and value to every interaction with marketers. Our goal as a company is to help marketers improve, and we should embody this in our conversations with customers and prospects.

I encourage my teammates to adopt this approach, because it’s a win-win. It helps us break through the noise of all the other salespeople out there and to demonstrate the amount of value marketers should expect to gain from partnering with TrackMaven.

What does TrackMaven culture mean to you?

It means open, honest, and frequent communication internally. It means playing to win, but doing so with integrity. And having a blast all the while.

What distinguishes Mavens from other people you’ve worked with in the past?

Their passion and goofiness. Everyone is excited to come to work and help build a great company. They’re also the kind of people I choose to be friends with outside of work, because they’re all quirky and talented.

Which time of day (or day of the week) are you most productive?

The two hour window immediately following a cup of coffee.

If TrackMaven were a TV show, which character would represent you?

Nigel Thornberry from The Wild Thornberrys.

Before working at TrackMaven, what was the most unique or unusual job you ever had?

I worked on Senator Claire McCaskill’s 2012 campaign as her 32.5 foot RV driver/repairman, logistics coordinator, and body-guy. She’s my role model and a wonderful woman.

What’s your 2nd favorite breed of dog? (Besides Corgis, of course…)

German Shorthaired Pointer.

This summer, two of Tripp’s passions — camping and corgis — fortuitously converged. The result? This EPIC photo.
