Facebook Passes “1 Billion Users In A Day” Milestone
Facebook continues to push new limits in digital friendship! On Monday, the social network passed a major milestone on its path to ubiquity: 1 billion users in a single day.
As Mark Zuckerberg pointed in his announcement, that’s 1 out every 7 people on earth!
Venture capitalist Marc Andreessen took to Twitter to remark on the milestone, and saw triple his twitter engagement as a result:

Marketing budget is a critical tenet of competitive intelligence (although we’d argue that with more efficient content creation and distribution processes, you can do more with less).
But just to put things in perspective… how much do some of the biggest SaaS shops around spend on sales and marketing? Drumroll please….
- Marketo (66%)
- Salesforce (53%)
- Tableau (53%)
Social media companies trail behind by percentage of revenue invested in sales and marketing, with Twitter (44%) edging out LinkedIn (35%).
