When you boost a post on Facebook, Facebook automatically generates an ad in your ads manager. The campaign for the ad will almost always begin with the prefix “Post:” and will carry all of the usual data associated with a true ad. TrackMaven pulls in the boosted post first (as organic content, then labeled as boosted once you’ve spent money to boost it), and then as an ad once the “ad” is generated in ads manager.
You will see identical spend totals for both the boosted post and the ad. The boosted post will have both paid and organic reach and impression data, while the ad will include paid data and other metrics such as Results, Cost-per-Result, and Audience data.
Both the boosted post and the ad generated from it are stamped with the green rocket-ship badge.
