My first week at TrackMaven was filled with many things — especially the number of google searches I performed. As I’m sure I mentioned, my marketing knowledge at the time was very basic and infantile. I was a history major with an editorial background, which ultimately meant that every time Allen mentioned CTR, CPC, CRM, or other marketing terms…I googled it to translate what he was saying.
Fast-forward to now and my googling has dwindled to a smaller amount of searches to terms that are more upcoming, instead of the more foundational marketing terms that sounded like nonsense to me before.
During the dark period where marketing was this nebulous thing to me and I had Google on my side, I had to sift through a few articles or blog posts to find the meaning of a simple definition like CTR. It was a little more time consuming than I wanted it to be and I longed for a resource to have right in front of me.
As we were putting together the new website, Allen brought up the genius idea of having some sort of resource for marketers to go to to search for all the terms about marketing. And then…the Marketing Dictionary was born (If I only had this when I first started).
The Marketing Dictionary has many terms that you may need a refresher on or new terms you had idea existed. We’re adding new terms every week and constantly editing the current ones (to make sure they stay current). But, here are some of the top terms so far and ones you really shouldn’t miss…
