Yesterday, I sat down with JP and Josh about what were some of the problems that the marketers they talk to face everyday. They both provided me with some context about some things that marketers want more of, but the top problem they both mentioned multiple times over was that marketers simply do not have enough time. I’ve looked over my own to-do list, metrics I need to keep track of every day, and other tasks I need to monitor. An immediate overwhelming sense takes over because there are just so many things to do. Promotion one of the biggest battles you have to win in this content war, as it is the factor that determines if your voice is reaching your audience or not. There is the 80/20 rule about headlines and your content, and then there’s the 80/20 rule with your content and promotion. 20% creating the content and the remaining 80% that goes into promoting your content. In a perfect world, a person who was interested in TrackMaven would only search for TrackMaven in Google, land on the homepage, fill out a form, become a lead, go through the sales process, and then, bam, become a customer. A customer who renews their contract forever and is a champion.
The would trickle through the funnel perfectly, touching on all of the parts in a stream-lined, predictable manner.
