Besides these individually ridiculous and weird holidays, you also have the fact that there are a mind-boggling number of national days about food. It’s not just the number of food holidays that rates a mention in this post on weird holidays, but just how oddly specific some of those foods are.
Here are some of the best examples from our list of foods that have their own holidays:

Not only are there a weird number of food holidays, but the majority of them center around junk food or dessert. In what seems to be an effort to balance these treat-laden celebrations, there is, of course, a token Eat Your Vegetables Day. I guess they tried?
